As the Harrogate International Festival returns, we thought we’d pay a visit to one of the town’s loveliest restaurants, Bistro du Vin. New head chef Jason Wardill has made his mark on the specials board; we loved the goat’s cheese pithivier (that’s ‘pie’, to non-French speakers) and the syrup laced carrot and maple soup. The decor is resolutely Gallic: dried hop plants strung around the windows, traditional hanging fans and champagne magnums all in a row.
