We love Lovecrumbs, a recent addition to Edinburgh’s bakery scene. Looking more like a greenhouse than a cake shop, you can even sit in the windows and be their live-in shop display for a while. One look at their cakes (housed in a blackboard-painted wardrobe) and you might not want to leave. There are salted chocolate tarts, brownies and jammy bakewell tarts. The coffee is excellent and the violet petal tea is a real pick-me-up. Best of all, tea comes with a flask of hot water so you can top yourself up.
