Hearty food and hand-pulled local beers are the order of the day at The Cross Keys. Built in 1802 and retaining many of its original features, the gastropub’s decor blends traditional and modern well: low exposed beams and cosy nooks and crannies rub along nicely with quirky wallpaper and a young, arty clientele. We enjoyed large portions of salt cod and lentil and veg crumble but it’s worth leaving room for the cheesecake, which comes garnished with fresh fruit and retro popping candy.
