There are so many things to like about this light-filled local pub. A regular haunt for Saturday and Sunday lunch, its ever-changing menu is supplemented by a chalk-board of daily specials – ranging from poached duck eggs and asparagus to cured rib of beef with all the trimmings. The bar staff make a killer bloody Mary and there is a serene paved garden at the back. If you don’t fancy a roast, the salmon fishcakes with saffron mayonnaise are delicious and the burgers are some of the best in the town.
