Speedy face masks for busy women

Three-minute miracle masks

Your face needs some pampering but you’ve just returned from the pub, you’re knackered and you have to be up in seven hours. Wait, six hours. Five-and-a-half. Oh. One of these three-minute masks should do the job nicely.

Old faithful

Boots’ Essentials Cucumber line takes us back to our teen years and discovering the pleasure in nice skincare. This mask is lightly fragranced, suitable for sensitive skin and carries a price point that is not in line with inflation. The creamy clay consistency makes it easy to apply and leaves skin tight but not uncomfortable. Essentials Cucumber 3 Minute Mask, £1.50 for 50ml, Boots.

Three musketeers

Bobbi Brown launched its face mask trio last month, with all designed to be left on for 2-5 minutes, once a week. Instant Detox is made with white clay to help unclog pores; Skin Nourish has a moisturiser-like consistency which needs to be massaged into skin; Radiance Boost is a kaolin clay-based mask that exfoliates and moisturises. Face masks, £33 for 75ml, Bobbi Brown

Clay but different

Unless we read the label, we wouldn’t know this new mask is clay-based, such is its light consistency and nourishing after-effects. Yet it is, and after a couple of minutes, you’ll have a dry base that washes off to reveal soft, clean skin, with a hint of sweet cucumber fragrance. NightWear Plus 3-Minute Detox Mask, £32 for 75ml, Estée Lauder.

One-minute wonder

A salty, scrub-like mask that only needs to be left on for 60 seconds. The thick consistency means you’ll need just a small amount to give decent coverage. The salt makes it a brilliant exfoliator but better for those with less sensitive skin. Avoid using it on your eyes or lips. Purity Made Simple Mask, £17.48 for 120ml, Philosophy
