Living aux naturel
Natural skincare brands you need on your face
Most of us can agree that natural skincare is on the tick list of ‘yes, let’s have more of that please’. Afterall, putting something on your skin that doesn’t have the word ‘toxic’ associated with it can only be a good thing. But when you’re strolling through Superdrug on your lunch break or working out shipping prices online, it can be hard to know out which skincare brands have Mother Nature’s approval, and which ones she’s scowling down at. Don’t worry, we’re here for you.
The Organic Pharmacy
You didn’t really need to be told this one did you? Yes, as you guessed from its name, The Organic Pharmacy ensures all its products are natural and organic, and it’s even EcoCert certified. We’re in love with a good many products from this brand, from their nourishing Carrot Butter Cleanser to their utterly indulgent Rose Diamond Exfoliating Cleanser (which you have the chance of winning as part of our Beauty Month campaign).
When Charlotte Vøhtz couldn’t find any natural products for her daughter’s allergy-prone skin, she decided to make her own. After years of deployment, Green People was born, providing products specifically formulated for people with sensitive skin, as well as those with skin concerns such as rosacea and eczema. Free from harsh ingredients like parabens and alcohol, it’s the queen of sensitive skin care. Hop over to our competition page, where there’s the chance to win one of their £50 gift sets.
Skin & Tonic
We like the story behind this brand – created by a couple who met over gin and tonic, with the desire to create a totally natural skincare brand free of ‘overt gender discrimination and huge amounts of excess packaging’. They managed it, and everything from their Detox Beauty Oil to their Calm Clean cleansing balm is 100% natural, gentle on the skin, and smells incredible.
Ready? Yes to… Charcoal, Cucumbers, Cotton, Coconut, Grapefruit, Miracle Oil, Tomatoes, Carrots aannnnd Blueberries. Okay, we admit, the packaging made us pick them up, but Yes To’s line speaks for itself and ensures that a quest for natural skin care doesn’t end in debt. If you’re ensure what to pick from their expansive range, try out their cucumbers facial wipes, which are great for sensitive skin and have won a nice number of beauty awards.
Company own brand products can be pretty hit or miss, but Boots seems to be consistently hitting it out of the park. Along with their actually quite impressive No7 range (the Matte Lip Crayons are top knotch) their brand Botanics is great for natural skincare on a budget. The Organic Rosewater Toning Spritz is our favourite and the perfect lazy girl toner, letting you revitalise your skin in just a few sprays.
