We’re not all able to do a perfect Amy Winehouse eyeliner flick. Here are five liners that won’t leave you looking like a child has used your face as a colouring-in book
FOR SENSITIVE EYES
Emerald Street editor Anna is a convert to this kohl liner, which is part of Clarins’ India-inspired summer make-up range. Its creamy texture ensures easy application and it’s available in black and violet. Also contains rose and mimosa, which offer soothing benefits. Clarins Kohl Kajal, £15
CLASSIC KOHL
MAC’s eye kohl is available in a rainbow of fun shades but you can’t go wrong with Smolder. It’s not too soft, not too hard and blending is so simple it can even be done on the train to work. MAC Eye Kohl, £14
GLIDE ON
The brilliant thing about this gel liner is that you can control the intensity by putting as much or as little colour on the brush as you want. Start small, you don’t want to end up with panda eyes. Maybelline New York Eye Studio Gel Liner, £8, feelunique.com
THIN BLACK LINE
With a tiny tip measuring a miniscule 0.4mm this felt-tip eyeliner is all about precision and accuracy. We also really like the pen design, which is shaped so that you can get a good grip on it. L’Oreal Paris Superliner Perfect Slim, £6.99
TIGER EYES
Liquid eyeliner usually creates a right old mess but not so with Rouge Bunny Rouge’s (great name) eye ink. The dinky tip means it goes on easily and this Tiger Eye Essence shade is an incredible golden hue. Rouge Bunny Rouge Quartz Eyeliner/Devotion Ink, £27
