The Diary Of Edward The Hamster 1990-1990 by sister and brother Miriam Elia and Ezra Elia (Boxtree, £6.99) is the most delightful book we’ve come across in ages. It’s an illustrated book that can be read in 15 minutes and it contains the tortured musings of Edward the hamster. Our favourite entry is from 8 May: “The vet came today. He touched me. Apparently, I’m a woman.” Brilliant.
