About Lee Miller: A Woman’s War
Running until 24 April 2016, Lee Miller: A Woman’s War is the new exhibition of 150 photographs by Lee Miller depicting women’s experience of the Second World War. Now open at IWM London, this major retrospective also traces Miller’s remarkable career as a photographer for Vogue Magazine and for the first time addresses her vision of gender.
Miller was one of only four female professional photographers to be accredited as official US war correspondents during the Second World War. Recognised today as one of the most important female war photographers of the 20th century, Miller offers an intriguing insight into the impact of conflict on women’s lives through her work, detailing their diverse experiences and her own world view.
