Things to do in London this weekend

It's the last weekend before Christmas folks, so make it count!

Don’t know what to do this weekend? You’re in luck…

A right melt

If you, like us, feel strongly that all savoury dishes are improved by adding heaps of melted cheese, get yourself down to London’s first ever raclette bar. Brought to you by Le Rac Shack, a variety of cheeses will be melted at your table and poured onto unlimited side dishes. Oh, and if you book through DesignMyNight.com, you get a free glass of Crémant. 14 Dec–17 Dec; £28; The Treehouse, Clapham Road, SW9

Christmas house

It’s your last chance to catch Winter La La Land, a wintry pop-up near Old Street. Patty-perfectors Cheeky Burger, vegan junk food masters Biff’s Jack Shack and BBQ-specialists Smokey Tails will bring the food, while a variety of house and techno DJs will be on hand to provide the vibes. You can even hire the room for karaoke if the mood hits. Until 16 Dec; free; Last Days Of Shoreditch, Old Street, EC1

Deck the halls

Left it a bit late with the Christmas deccies? Drink, Shop & Do have you covered, with a Christmas decoration making workshop where arts-and-crafters can create yuletide trinkets over brunch or afternoon tea. As ever, tradition can be eschewed for originality – why not personalise a bauble with a picture of your beloved’s face? Or fashion a candy cane with boobs? 16 Dec; £5, only available with brunch or afternoon tea; Drink, Shop & Do, 9 Caledonian Rd, N1

Twas the night

If you like your Christmas cultured, then the Charles Dickens Museum lates will be right up your (Victorian) alley. Explore Dickens’s home, all dressed up for Christmas (the home, not you, although you can too!) followed by some late night carol singing from the Goodenough College. Throw in some readings from A Christmas Carol and a candlelit bar for a festive tipple or three and you’ve got yourself a night out. 14 Dec; £12; Charles Dickens Museum, 48 Doughty Street, WC1

Festive jog

See London’s beautiful Christmas markets and festive lights while also getting some exercise in with this 5k running tour. Your guide will show all the yuletide sites to the sounds of pumping festive music and, of course, every runner gets a Santa hat to run in, and a bite to eat at the end. It’s also paced, so you can pick the tour that most suits your fitness level. 17 Dec; £16; WC2, with exact meeting point provided after booking
