Weekend Guide

Things to do this weekend in London: September 30 – October 2

The leaves have started falling, which means outside exploring and crunching your way there

Gin Run

Run ruin

The best kind of organised run comes with an age restriction. For over-18s only, Gin Glorious Gin is the latest need-your-trainers tour from Secret Runs London, and it’ll take you charging around the city learning all about the spirit’s colourful history. And drinking it, too. 2-6 October; times vary; from £29; secret location in EC4 (you’ll get a text after booking)

Not tennis

Wimbledon Bookfest is hosting talks from the likes of SJ Watson and Jenni Murray alongside workshops on song writing and how to get published, plus there’s a pop-up cinema (Romeo+Juliet, yes please), an Oxfam bookshop and poetry takeaway. Until 9 October; prices vary – book sessions individually; Wimbledon Common, SW19

Art Licks weekend South London

Culture taster

Art Licks Weekend is now in its fourth year of supporting emerging London artists and showcasing their work across the city. There are tons of exhibitions – pick your favourites from the extensive programme or book on to a £10 tour of the highlights in Peckham or New Cross. 30 Sept – 2 Oct; from free; venues across London

Camden Town tank party

Be hoppy

A Tank Party sounds vaguely fraternity-like; not so when Camden Town Brewery are running things. Pale ale will be flowing but their one-day event is open to everyone, with street food (burgers, barbecue), live music and a workshop with the Little Camden Print Shop. 1 Oct; 12- 8pm; free entry; 55-59 Wilkin Street Mews, NW5

Classic Car Boot Sale

Older model

Don’t deny it: vintage stuff feels more authentically OLD when it’s being sold out of someone’s car. The Classic Car Boot Sale is lots cooler than the ones you got dragged to in your youth, though, with coffee and cocktails (instead of lukewarm tea) and genuine vintage traders. 1 Oct; from 10am; £4 in advance (£5 on door); Lewis Cubitt Square, N1C
