Who better to share her tips for feeling beautiful...
YOUR BAG IS YOUR SECURITY BLANKET
“I’m a great believer in your accessories doing the talking. It’s a nice way of showing your personality. My two favourite accessories are bags and hats. Bags are like a grown up security blanket; we carry them everywhere and they are an extension of our personality. Hats can turn an outfit around. I love the classic quilted Chanel 2.55 bag and any hat by Stephen Jones.”
INVEST IN STYLE
“Invest in what you wear and it will last longer and you’ll feel better. I’m having a love affair with Cos at the moment. It’s great quality and a reasonable price point. And I love vintage. It’s not necessarily expensive but they are one-offs that have stood the test of time. Edinburgh in general is great for vintage shopping. I love Virginia’s in London and there are some great finds to be had at Kempton Park Market and Greenwich Market.”
THE TRICKS TO KNOW
“Modelling has taught me some good tricks. One of the biggest problems I deal with as a model is VPL and I am now very well versed in the thong. Marks & Spencer’s thongs are the best – they are invisible under clothes. Always scratch the bottom of your new shoes with scissors to stop you slipping over and spray hairspray under your skirt to instantly remove static.”
TREAT YOUR SKIN
“Beauty products are important for making you feel good about yourself. I love MAC, it has an incredible palette of colours. For skincare, I like the smell and packaging of Bliss products, and Bumble And Bumble Seaweed Shampoo and Conditioner. It’s fantastic, if you need to wash your hair every day. Once you use it, you’ll never look back.”
KNOW YOUR BODY
“I don’t follow trends. They make me feel self-conscious and it’s very expensive. Instead, know your body shape and honour it. I love skinny straps but they don’t suit me. However, I know I look – and most importantly feel – good wearing a sharp tailored suit so I invest in them. Love your body and know what suits it.”
