The Mall Tavern’s nostalgic British menu and friendly service keeps this venue popular with locals and the post-work crowd. If you can’t book ahead, squeeze into the bar and wait – it’s well worth it. There are some interesting dishes on the menu: pheasant eggs with celery salt and grilled mackerel with gooseberries. We went for a generous portion of gooey deep-fried brie followed by beef brisket and arctic roll. We also saved room for salted chocolate Rolos – you should, too – they were amazing.
