The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair Fair returns to Spinningfields in Manchester from 4 to 7 October, showcasing the latest work by some of the UK’s most exciting designer-makers.
Voted Small Tourism Event of the Year at the 2011 Manchester Tourism Awards, the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair presents a unique opportunity to buy direct from 150 selected makers in textiles, wood and furniture, lighting, mixed media, metal, jewellery, glass, ceramics, basketry and paper. The event also plays host to the Great Northern Graduates which presents the best emerging talent from this summer’s degree shows, selected by curator Suzy Jones.
The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair will also be hosting a series of talks by prominent figures from the contemporary craft world, including ceramicist Sharon Blakey and embroiderer Louise Gardiner who will be talking about the creative process involved in producing her installation for this year’s COLLECT at the Saatchi Gallery.
