Bringing wedges back

Meet the eclectic Wedgie family

Doorstops are so often an afterthought, even in this era of heavy-duty fire doors and in-keeping-with-the-period windows and their draughts. Propping up an entranceway is left to various household accoutrements, the ones that just happen to be nearest to hand, like a small pedal bin or a lone shoe. Perhaps, in desperate circumstances, even a folded up letter from a local estate agent saying they are “looking for property in your area”. Sigh.  But Wedgies have a selection of magnificent handmade stoppers, all painted as unique characters (each with its own excellent story, like Jerry, “accused of selling out to ‘the man’ by offering his services in door-stopping”.) Genius. £9.50, Wedgies
