A witchy potion for your flu

Is it just us or has literally everyone in the universe got the flu at the moment? Having risen from a week-long woozy-headed, limb-wobbling bout only to see friends, family and colleagues dropping like flies we have been trying to prevent further attacks with all manner of superfoods and vitamin boosters. Which is why we’ve been whizzing up this immune-boosting, rehydrating smoothie created by Neal’s Yard Remedies’ Naturopathic Herbalist, Tipper Lewis. It’s just like a witch’s potion. Suck it down in the morning, and, er, hold your breath while you’re commuting, alright? (And to those that have it already, get well soon).

Ingredients:

Half a pineapple chopped – Contains bromelain, a protein extract good for digestive health
Juice of 1 pink grapefruit – Refreshing and cleansing
Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder – Supports a healthy liver
1 heaped teaspoon of camu camu powder – Positively bursting with vitamin C
2 heaped teaspoons of baobab powder – Filled with vitamin C and calcium
3 heaped teaspoons of pre-soaked goldenberries – A great source of protein and vitamin C
1 heaped teaspoon of coconut oil – Essential fatty acids for healthy skin
4 heaped teaspoons of coconut cream – Great source of nutrients and creamy texture
500ml water

Method:

  1. Place all the ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth and creamy
  2. Serve chilled (you or the drink!)
