Bedfordshire’s Whipsnade Zoo was a regular feature in Emerald Street’s childhood and we spent many a happy Sunday there, eating jam sandwiches, looking at the lions. This video from the British Pathé archive shows two of its inhabitants from 1971: a baby rhino and its mother. Six-and-a-half minutes of watching has shown us it’s a sweet life, involving eating hay and running around for a bit.
