New film Captain Fantastic is actually fantastic
Enlightening, teary, uplifting stuff, and in cinemas now
It’s about this time of year in the film calendar – post-Blockbuster, pre-big award contenders – that the quiet-but-mighty releases start trickling out. This year, the one making waves (it premiered at Sundance and was part of the Cannes official selection) is Captain Fantastic, starring Viggo Mortenson (you know, Aragorn) as an idealist raising his six kids alone off the grid in Washington. When their mother dies and they have to make the five-day journey to her funeral, the clan encounter more of the modern world than they have been brought up to handle. Enlightening, teary, uplifting stuff, and in cinemas now.
